Final Countdown to Miami

Yesterday we crated and shipped the bot, along with ChupaBot and PacBot. It was quite a process to get all of our tools packed up in the crates, even though the PacBot crate is enormous, we still managed to fill the entire thing.

Preparing to Present Huey to the People

For the past few weeks, the team has been preparing to present the final product to our sponsors and parents. Kyle Haake, David Wilson, and myself have been working to make a powerpoint with some videos to present. I promise I will blog again with all videos attached. The presentation is set for April 12, but we rencently had a presentation at Honeywell which gave us a great chance to brush up on our presentation skills. We still need to work on presentation as a group, but we should be ready for the presentation date.

Presenting to the Community

Now that our physical exertion is almost complete, we have practiced our presentation skills. We have several presentations to the community coming up over the completion of our battlebot. Tomorrow we are presenting to the engineers at Honeywell and next week, we will present to parents and members of the school board. It is an exciting time to be and battlebots and we are pumped for the 25th of April when we leave for Miami!

Completion

We finally have our battlebot completed and hardened. Some changes are 1/2 inch of steel plate on all sides and 1/2 inch of steel tubing with a goodsized wall thickness. Our top armor is 3/8 inch Lexan that is bullit proof. It is supported by the frame supports for weapon system.
One weapon blade is 37" and the other is a little over 4 feet. both are case hardened by the guys at HAR NOY. The blades both weigh more than 15 lbs. KB Machine shop has custom made our entire weapons systems.
We will go to Honeywell tommorow to present the final product to them.

Cruisin'

Now that our bot is in working condition, we are experimenting with drivers to find the most apt driver. We have made plans to make an obstacle course and test our drivers/bot ability on it. We're looking forward to Miami!
