Power/Control Update

For Power/Control, we have come a long way since August. We were faced with the system requirements of creating and programming a electrical system that would safely operate our drive and weapon systems. The components in our system include:
24V Victor 883 speed controllers
24V Custom Brick battery from Robot Marketplace
12V Custom Brick battery from Robot Marketplace
PWM wiring and Dean's Wet Noodle 12-gauge wiring
Isaac Control System
connectors
joysticks

We will have 4 Victor 883's, 1 24V Battery, 2 12V Batteries, several feet of wiring, multiple connectors, 2 joysticks, and our 3 Isaac components laid out in our Battlebot. We will be integrating our 24V Battery and 2 speed controllers with our drive system. With our weapon system, we will integrate 2 12V Batteries and 2 speed controllers.

After presenting our PDR at Honeywell, we made a few minor changes. These included calculating the current of our system in order to ensure the parts we had ordered would be sufficient. Our next step was to hook up all of our components and to program our drive and weapon systems. Our primary focus is to create precise control over our drive movements and our activation of our blade. We are useing PBASIC to program these systems. Ryan Metcalf has led the charge in these fields. Also, Jason Reynolds has adopted the task of 3-D CADing. His drawings are marvellous. For the final bot, we should be able to directly implement our system from the prototype. Team Huey is taking off!
