The first day at the pits in Miami has come and gone. I am exhausted. The other teams were really helpful and we ourselves were helpful. Our robot passed the safety check on the third time. Third time is the charm. Well bed time!

Time ticking down
Less than a week before we ship the bot and we are rushing to tweak the last few things. The belt tensioner that we needed for the weapon system is in now thanks to our creative engineering skills and we are working on safety issues now. So far my whole team is doing very well, everyone is chipping in and helping out unlike the beginning of the year. We are finally getting stuff done, a little late, but still getting it done.

Almost Done Contd.
Well the issue that came up during our prototype. The one where our wheels didn't touch. That is still prevalent in our robot. I proposed to take a 5" wheel and cut it down to size to touch. We could see if we can get a 4.5" wheel somewhere. We are also in need of a fastening device for our top plate.

Progress of Frame and armor
The Frame is finished and welded. The steel armor is welded to the frame and the lexan is all that needs to be put on we are not sure if we are using a thicker type of Lexan. We also have to make some kind of box or wall to cover the motors from debree. We are moving at a much better pace now though.
Power Control
I recieved a surge of electricity through myself and in the process I believe I fried the motherboard. Now we are waiting to recieve a fixed motherboard. In the meantime we are creating a way into which we can enclose our motherboard and protect it from surges. So we will most likely need to change the arrangement of the parts inside the bot... Well I'm off...

Weapon
Dodson and I have now offically finished the weapon system on our battlebot! We tested it this morning in Keiter's class and the blade runs beautifully. Dodson and I are very proud of our work and think that we will be a big threat in the arena.

me and nick are sitting here in class update on alex gould he is currently at home a little concused and a sore back not sure if he will make it. Now for the update as to whats going on with the drive system im proud to say drive is completly done and we know have the option to both use 5 inch wheels and 4 inch wheels. our caster design was changed as to what we thought would go down earlier. hopefully it changed for the better, we came up with the idea as to weld a nut inbetween two steel poles put those two poles on two L channels and bam we can ajdust the height of out caster extremly easily.

Just yesterday we completed our frame with our steel armor completed also all that is need to be done is screw the lexan on to the hinges we also need to install everything in the bot there are holes cut in the side for our shaft for our wheels. i just relized we need to cut our caster holes bigger becaue we will have to be able to fit the entire caster thru because the mount for it will not be removable because they will be welded on soo we will have to fit the caster up and thru the hole to mount them. we will also need to drill holes in the bottom plate so we can mount our drive motors. we are hoping to acomplish most of the instalation on all of our parts tomorrow during our work time.

Progress
This week we have made a lot of progress in our BattleBot Team. Our offical Bot name is Pacman, we got the casters on perfectly, the drive system is completely done, the weapon system is almost done installing, power and control are getting ready for their part, and we are getting our pulleys and blade machined for free. So far we have been kinda behind but are catching up quickly.
