Day 5: GPS Field Work

Today I went out into the field to learn how to find and mark manholes using the GPS receiver. Ryan Metcalf taught me how to use the unit and then we set off for the day. We found and marked about 10 manholes in the morning. The procedure is pretty simple, find the location, find the manhole, position the unit with receiver over the manhole, create a directory, create the manhole data, and let the GPS mark the spot. After looking for a total of 15 manholes, marking the 10, and not being able to find the other 5, we headed back to JCW. Today completed my first week at JCW and I'm lovin it !

Here are some pics of me and ryan working with the GPS unit.

Cool new backgrounds and great images in your post! Can't read this post text very well because of the color, you might try changing it.
