I have not posted in awile so I thought i'd give everybody an update of what i've been doing during my internship here at Johnosn County Wastewater. Currently I am working witht the permitting, and engineering department on various tasks. I am still doing light tabling and residential plan review, but have branched out and am learning about the commercial review side. I am also helping the permitting department with some databasing and other tasks. I have been busy here at JCW and am still enjoying the work I do.

This past week I spent the days going out into the field with all of the inspectors and observing inspections around the county. I learned what different inspections required, and how different areas of the county see different types of inspections because of the growth in different areas. I learned a lot about the different companies that are in the area, and how some are easier to work with than others. Overall it was a great learning experience and I hope to get out more often. This Thursday will officially begin my internship during the school year. I will keep up to date as I begin new projects, learn new information, or just something exiting comes up. Keep Posted !

New Project: Peak Flow Corrections

I have started a new project for Matt Bond that basically involves me going through a ton of sheets that were created after recording the flow of holding tanks within the JCW district and changing the gallons per tested time into gallons per day. This was done incorrectly previously, so I now have to go back and re-do all of the calculations. I made an excel program to make this process a lot faster. Here's a picture:

I should finish this project by the end of the day if all goes well and I don't get any weird sheets that require a lot more work I have not updated recently, so here's a re-cap of what I've been doing:

New Submittal, Residential Sewer Line Reviews

Residential Sewer Light Tabling

GPS Locating

Misc. Projects (Peak Flow Calc., Filing, Number Checks, Quick LT, etc...)

I am enjoying the work I'm doing here at JCW, and as school is right around the corner I look forward to a great school year working during my 5th and 6th hour for work release. From now on I will update either when I get a new project, a special event happens, or I just haven't updated in awhile. So keep posted for new information !
